It Snowed!

We had our first snow on Tuesday, the 20th. There was only an inch or two accumulation. Since it remained cold for a few days, the snow coated the ground until Thanksgiving. It seems snow and cold temperatures made the birds very hungry. They were flitting back and forth between the bird feeders and the trees all day.

It was later in the day when I took these photos so it was getting dusk and the birds had gone, except for one little chickadee. He traveled between the feeder and the birch tree in the photo above. He must have been feeling a little insecure. Instead of flying directly between the two, he would disappear into the small pines in the walkway to emerge a few minutes later.

It was a bit chilly in the house. Oscar, our dachshund, pulled a couch pillow down over himself. His way of saying, "Turn up the heat!"

Wonderful photos, Tina! Another great post ;0)

Poor Oscar! Maybe he was warm beneath that pillow... How cute!

Michele,

Thank you! These pillows normally lean against the back part of the couch. Very often, Oscar manages to get behind them in a way that creates a little "cave." It's hardly noticeable until the couch pillows start to move!

Thank you for stopping by; it's always good to see you. :-)

Smiling right back at you,
Tina

Tina,

That little chickadee is adorable. I love birds, as you do. I was at my neighbor's yesterday and she had cardinals at her feeder. Bluejays and cardinals are abundant here and they are so beautiful. They bring color to our yards in winter.

Another wonderful post from a wonderful lady. I have sent you a little something in the email.

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Blessings,
Mary

Mary,

Birds are a blessing, aren't they?! It has only been the last few years that we have had cardinals. I love them. And, as you said, along with the blue jays, they brighten up the winter.

Thank you for your good wishes and kind words, my friend. I'm going to go check my email right now. Then I will be back to visit your Writing Nook!

hugs,
Tina

Hi Tina!

Sorry I'm late visiting. My family just left yesterday, so I have some catching up to do. Love the photos. I also love chickadees, and all the birds that come to the feeders. I have a regular cafeteria going on here for birds and beasts.

The snow makes everything look so pretty, but I'd rather do without it. I will let you have all the snow, this winter, okay?

Thank you for your nice comments on my birthday blog. I always enjoy hearing from you.

Hugs,

Renie

Renie,

I'll take all the snow if you send it north of me. I would make that sacrifice to forgo the snow so ski country New Hampshire can have it. Besides, for some strange reason, it looks even prettier in the more northern parts of New Hampshire! LOL

Thank you for stopping by. It's always great to see you. :-)

Hugs,
Tina
