A Beautiful Saturday Afternoon!
What a beautiful Saturday afternoon! A gentle breeze makes the 76°F (24°C) temperature feel perfect. Big puffy clouds fill the sky. A quick thunderstorm is predicted to rain down on us later this afternoon, so Dave and I decided to take a little time to enjoy the sunshine out on the deck with Oscar and the mourning dove sitting on the line.
This little purple finch stopped by for a while. I think he is a young bird, it looked as though some of his feathers were still coming in or changing color. He spent part of his time eating, then turned to watch us while we were watching him.
There weren't many birds around. It was a bit early in the afternoon, but after the purple finch finished eating and watching us, a pair of evening grosbeaks stopped by. They also seemed to think that we were the dinner show entertainment, too, as they watched us while dining. A hummingbird stopped for a quick sip of nectar, but was off before I could get a picture.
Just as we were about to go back into the house, I noticed a big duck in the sky about to fly away. Can you see it?
I hope you are having a beautiful Saturday, too!

nice posting.right now we are under a sever thunder storm warning.
Thank you, Mike! I hope the thunderstorm fizzles out.
Yes, I see the duck! When I was little I use to lay on a quilt in the backyard and watch all types of animals float by in the clouds. Sound like a lovely day.
Tina,
We had a little rain today as well, but no thunderstorm. Other than that, it was a beautiful day, though it did get a little humid. It is beautiful out now and will be a great night for sleeping with windows open.
The bird photos are great. I don't know how you do it. I don't get many bird photos. They seem to know exactly when I'm about to push the button and fly away. Maybe my birds are just camera shy. LOL
I taught the boys to find things in the clouds when they were little and they still do it sometimes. It's fun for kids and grownups alike.
I'm glad you enjoyed your Saturday.
Blessings,
Mary
I do see the duck, Tina! Neat! So glad I stopped by to find this nice post. And thanks for your nice words you left at my blog. :-)

Linda,
My friends and I used to do the same thing. Those are some very happy memories. Although I don't lay on the ground anymore, I still love to watch clouds! Thank you for stopping by - I hope you have a great day!
Tina
Mary,
I can't tell you how many photos I have that I could title "this is where the bird was a second earlier." LOL
Finding shapes in clouds is a lot of fun. It's a funny kind of activity, isn't it? We cloud watch when we are little, outgrow it until we have kids, and forget about it again until we have grandchildren. Now, I mostly continue myself. Although, every so often, Mariah and the kids and I will be outside together and one of us will shout out,"Look at that cloud!" LOL
I'm glad you had a pleasant night. Our thunderstorm didn't materialize either and the evening turned out very pleasant. We are due for some humidity this week. I hope that doesn't materialize, either! LOL
I hope you have a lovely day!
Hugs,
Tina
Hi Michele,
When I posted about the cloud, I didn't realize how much fun it was going to be to cloud-watch with my blogging buddies!!
I always enjoy my visits to your blog. I hope you have a great week! :-)
hugs,
Tina
I see the duck! You got some great pictures!! I hope your having a nice weekend!
Hi Tina,
Your Saturday sounds peaceful and relaxing! We love to sit on the deck and bird watch too. Right now it's so hot here in CA and the air is smokey from all the grass fires burning in nearby counties.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend!
:)
LOL, I see the duck! Watching the sky is one of life's most simple pleasures.
-giggles- Yes! I see the duck!!!
And what a lovely afternoon you had, and shared with us. Thank you.

Hi Tina,
What a nice post. Love the pictures of the purple finch, dove, and grosbeaks. Like Mary, I have a more difficult time photographing birds. They are not as cooperative as the deer.
Oh, I see the duck too! :-)
Have a wonderful week, my friend.
Hugs,
Renie
Renie,
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed my post. As I mentioned to Mary, you would get a good chuckle out of all the photos I take that could be titled,"Here is where the bird was 2 seconds ago!" LOL
I love your wildlife photos, especially the deer.
I'm glad you dropped by. Have a great week, my friend!
Hugs,
Tina
I see the ducky too! Thanks for sharing your lovely Saturday afternoon with us. I enjoyed all the photos so much ;--)
Hugs and blessings,
Thank you, everyone for your lovely comments!! I appreciate your visits very much. I'm having computer issues so I need to keep this brief. Thank you! :-) Tina
