Look Who's In the Duck House!

On Monday, I heard the familiar sound of tree swallows in the back yard. When I looked out, I saw two swallows flying around the duck house. I'm not sure if they were building a nest, feeding the young, or if they were fledglings. I am sure they are not wood ducks! LOL

Two years ago, we saw a cute little face staring out of the old duck house. It turned out to be a baby squirrel. We soon learned he had siblings. They were all very cute.

We see plenty of wood ducks. Perhaps some day, they will give one of the duck houses a try.

Did you notice the water? That's not pollution - that's pollen. Our yard is covered with a blanket of pollen. We can see it floating in the air. Sneezin' season.

Have a great weekend!

Hi Tina, Thanks for stopping by. I always enjoy meeting new bloggers. We are just starting to see a little relief from the pollen. The older I get the more my allergies bother me. Please stop by again real soon

Michele,

Thank you. I feel bad for the ducks swimming in that. Once this clears, the pond usually looks very nice.

Under the "duh" where is my mind category: I finally realized it would be a lot quicker to get to your new home if I put the correct URL on my sidebar. I've been clicking on your old one and then clicking on your new one from there. Now, I am only one click away!!

Have a great weekend! :-)

Hugs,
Tina

Hi Tina,

I had the pollen problem back in April. My pond had some floating around on it as well, since it's surrounded by so many trees. But by luck, pollen doesn't bother me at all. It does bother Greg, who sneezes a lot when he is here during pollen season!

The tree swallows are beautiful and so graceful in flight. Maybe they have babies in the duck house.

I enjoyed this post and picture. Have a great weekend, my friend.

Hugs,

Renie

Tina,

That is a LOT of pollen. I don't know how you can breathe.

Your photos of the birds are great and swallows are fun to watch at any time. We have some barn swallows in the area.

Take care, my friend and thanks so much for commenting on my recent posts.

Blessings,
Mary

Hi Renie,

I enjoy watching the tree swallows flying about. I haven't heard any more sounds coming from the duck house. I'm begining to think that the swallows were the babies. They would fly out in a circle around the pond and back to the duck house. Finally, they did take off. They are still around here, though. It's fun to watch them!

I really enjoyed your photo of the racoon! That is a really terrific capture. I've only see racoons around here once, but I have heard them before.

I hope you had a great week!
Hugs,
Tina

Tina,

The pollen pic of the pond looks like my area did a few weeks back. It's eased off now. But at the time, it was bad because of the water restrictions - we couldn't clean it up except for a day or two out of the week.

Mary,

Usually, the pollen isn't too bad of a problem for me. I've had a little cold and it really feels as though the pollen is aggravating the cough. But the cold is almost gone and soon the pollen should be, too!

Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed the photos. I always enjoy your posts. Take care.

Hugs,
Tina

Thank you, Michele! :-)

Mike, I didn't realize you were at wordpress, too. I will be over for a visit!

Deborah, that must have been a real hassle. I'm sorry you are still in a drought. I hope you have a nice rainy season!

Hi Tina,
Thanks for visiting me. You do have lots of pollen. We're bothered by it too at this time of year and with the winds, it's even worse.
How wonderful to have a pond like this.
:)

Hi Susie,

The pollen has been heavy this year, that's for sure. Today it is raining and that should help drive the pollen levels down.

The little pond is such a treat. It attracts all kinds of wildlife.

Thank you for visiting. I hope you will visit again!
