How Much Have I Changed in Ten Years?

You've Changed 20% in 10 Years

You've hardly changed in ten years, from your lifestyle to those very retro clothes.

And unless you were really ahead of your time, you probably need to acquaint yourself with the modern world!

Just for the fun of it, I decided to answer these questions from different times in my life. So instead of answering how much I've changed in 10 years, I answered in repsonse to 15 years, then 20 years, 30 years, 40 years, and 50 years. Since I am 57 years old, there have been big changes since I was seven!! Here is the breakdown:

20% in 10 years
40% in 15 years
52% in 20 years
60% in 30 years
80% in 40 years
84% in 50 years

Thank you for posting this one, Storyteller. It was fun! It certainly got me thinking about some of the changes I've undergone over the years. Keeping with the more whimsical spirit of this game brought some light-hearted changes to mind.

I have always loved music. My thoughts turned to the evolution of how I listen to music, which started with records and my little transistor radio, evolved to eight track tapes, cassettes, and finally CDs on my stereo system. Now I'm ready for the next step - an MP3 player.

How could I not stroll down fashion memory lane? I never missed an opportunity to cast off a frilly dress for my dungarees. As a young person, I never dreamed I would give up my bell-bottomed, hip-huggers. But I did. Over the years they morphed into straight-legged-jeans which have morphed into slacks with elastic waist bands.

What of my favorite passtimes? My rollerskates and jump rope have long since been retired to eventually be replaced with a telescope and binoculars. Nancy Drew mysteries are no longer on the bookshelf having been moved to make space for mysteries by John Grisham and Patricia Cornwell.

Not everything has changed. Now and then, I still enjoy those "little hot dogs" otherwise known as breakfast links. And I still love those "little trees" otherwise known as broccoli. As long as there are hot, summer days, a cold glass of lemonade will always hit the spot and serve as a reminder of summer days long ago!

Tina,

What a fun quiz. I'm so glad you posted the results. We have all changed over the last 50 years. LOL I was eight 50 years ago, so just one year older than you. I too would cast off a frilly dress for dungarees and I too wore the bell bottoms, hot pants and other fashions of the 60s and 70s. I think I lost my fashion sense of my teens when I was became a single mother. I could no longer afford all the nice clothes that I'd once spent my pay checks on.

Thanks for the walk down Memory Lane. We must get together through email. It's been far too long.

Blessings,
Mary

PS. I took the quiz and I've changed 16% in ten years - only because I now have a cell phone, a computer and the Internet. LOL

Hi Tina,

I will take that quiz myself and see how much I've changed. Fifty years ago, I was 21, a young Mom already, and very much into the fashion of the 60s, with mini skirts and all. I don't think I was ever daring enough for hot pants though!

I have evolved pretty much by enjoying computers, cell phones, digital camera's, four wheelers, jet ski's, etc. But as for slacks, give me the elastic waisted ones these days. Comfort is more important than fashion! LOL.

I enjoyed reading about your changes. And I'm glad you're posting again!

Hugs,

Renie

Oh well...some change is good, right?

Mary,

I will be 58 soon! I forgot about the hot pants and that reminds me of the mini skirts. We were a wild bunch, weren't we?!?! LOL

I don't have a cell phone, but Dave does. The computer and the Internet certainly made a big bump in the change in my life. They made a big impact, too. Bigger I think than is reflected in the quiz.

I will email you soon!

Hugs,
Tina

Hi Renie,

How could I forget about digital cameras! LOL I've never been on a four wheeler or a jet ski. I bet that is a lot of fun. Years ago, Dave had a motorcycle and I enjoyed riding with him. I never rode it alone.

If you had asked me when I was 21 years old if I would ever prefer elastic waist bands over my jeans, I would have been very sure the answer would be a resounding "NO"! (I do have a pair of jeans with an elastic waist band. LOL) I'm with you, comfort first!

Thank you, Renie! :-)

Hugs,
Tina

Mike,

You beat me out! Although, the questions didn't cover one very important area. I haven't worn bow glasses (similar to those in the picture of the girl in my results) since I was about 10 or 11 years old. Besides, mine were a very cool blue! LOL

Thank you for joining in!

Tina

Tina,

I took the quiz to see how much I had changed in 10 years - 56%.

I'm also 20% weirdo. lol

Deborah,

Thanks for taking the quiz! I think my kids would put me at about 20%, too. Or, as I like to think of it, 20% eccentric. LOL
