Hello, Again!
The flu has kept me out of commission for a while. Both Dave and I had it, but we are much better now! I wanted to post to let you know I'm still around and will get caught up in the next few days. I've missed visiting here with my friends. :-)
The deer have been dining here almost every night. Unfortunately, they arrive after dark, sometimes not until midnight. Dave rigged up a motion detector to alert us to their presence. All the snow on the ground provides just enough light so that we can see them through the back window with the night binoculars. It's a treat to see them. There are two does with a little one and a solitary doe that are regulars. I wish they would arrive earlier so I could get some photos! Maybe as the days get longer they will - I hope.
As usual, the story here is the weather. We had a week of spring-like weather. Temps reached 60 degrees one day and upper fifties other days. There were two days of rain, a thunderstorm in Nashua, and lots of melting snow. The sump pump was worked hard. Despite all that, we still have a snow cover. Weather forecasters are predicting 6 to 12 inches of snow for tomorrow. I guess the silver lining to this is that all that snow makes it easier to see the deer. On the down side, if this keeps up schoolchildren will have a lot days to make up at the end of the year.
The photo above gives you an idea of all the layers of snow we've had. It would snow, then we would get freezing rain or sleet, which would freeze over so that the next snowstorm formed a new layer. Here you can see a sheet of the layers sliding off the old woodshed roof. The thin layer of ice held it together until it actually touched the ground and finally broke loose from the roof!
I hope you are all well. See you soon at your blogs. :-)

Tina,
That photo really does show all the layers of snow and ice.
We had mild temperatures here while away. When we left, there was 4 feet at the end of our driveway and when we came home there wasn't one drop left. Michelle text messaged Brandon and told him the river had flooded the road. The river is the highest I've seen it in years.
Right now it's snowing. I'm not sure how much we're to get. I haven't seen the weather forecast since we got home. I do know that Florida and some of the mid west states are having bad storms.
I enjoyed your post and the photo.
Hugs and blessings,
Mary
As always, I love your photo! I'm so glad you're feeling better, and that you're back in blogger world. :-)
I've been responding to the sweet comments you left on my blog. I'm glad you could catch up on some of what you've been missing along the cyber highway!
Take care, get your strength back up, and keep smilin'!
Smiles,
Michele
Hi Tina,
I was a bit worried about you since you haven't been on for some time. I'm so glad you and Dave are both better now.
The photo does show the layers of snow. It looks beautiful! And I'm glad the deer are around. Hope they are finding some sustenance in all that snow.
We haven't had any snow, but it's in the forecast for later this week. I don't want any! Lol. But if it does snow, I will take snow pictures! The lemonade out of lemons theory. LOL.
I'm so glad you're back on, Tina. And thank you for your nice comments on my blog. You sure did a lot of reading! Lol.
Have a wonderful day, Tina.
Love and Hugs,
Renie
Mary,
Yes, those mid west state storms headed this way and combined with a weather system coming up the east coast to give us another nor'easter. It started about 3 this morning is looks like it is just winding down now.
I hope the flood has receded from your road! Did it continue snowing? I wonder if that system was big enough to cause you a big storm, too. I hope not!
I'm glad you could see the layers - I wasn't quite sure if it showed up well enough. Thank you!!
Hugs,
Tina
Hi Michele,
I enjoyed reading your blog. I ran out of time before I could finish with the posts that I missed. But I am looking forward to picking up where I left off.
Thank you for your kind wishes and kind words! :-)
Smiling right back at you,
Tina
Renie,
With all the snow, there hasn't been much for the deer. Dave buys deer feed that he puts out around the pond. It looks like granola and it sure smells good! The deer seem to really like it.
I hope you don't get the snow, but if you do, I will look forward to seeing the "lemonade" photos!
I always enjoy reading your posts, so it was a real treat to get caught up on all I missed. Thank you for your good wishes and kind comments! :-)
Love & Hugs,
Tina
Glad you are feeling better Tina!! What a great pic!
Thank you, Grandy! :-)
